‘Twas The Night Before School Started…

‘Twas the Night Before School Started!  Yes, it’s that time of year again… where parents are doing the ‘Back To School Dance’ probably today and tomorrow as you see your kids off to school again to start, what I hope, is a great school year.  So this is for you!

It’s hard to believe that the summer is officially over.  Our summer was a bit quieter than usual, but it was pretty good.

I wish I was able to do the ‘dance’ with you but it’s been two years now since my son has attended a traditional school. I wish I could send him to school… I really do!  I was not meant to be a teacher!  I do respect what those of you do that are teachers, as it’s not easy.  I just wish there was more education for those that ‘teach’ so there is more understanding of those with special needs.  Maybe someday this will change, but until then, we continue to homeschool.  So while my friends are looking forward to the start of another year, I am doing lesson plans and figuring out schedules for our days.

What I am looking forward to is the fact that my son’s programs are starting back up again.  It’s the time of year where we get a little more structure in our lives.  We start his horseback riding lessons again – oh, how we have missed that.  Registration for the upcoming ski season and swimming lesson will be very soon, and I hope to look at venturing into the world of hockey this year!  After all, hockey and Canada just go hand in hand!

I wish you all a great day tomorrow as you send your children back to school… with a big smile on your face!  Oh, c’mon… I know you will be smiling!

I had mixed feelings about sending my little ones off. My 3rd grader would be fine, and he was. My 1st grader was very apprehensive. However, she had a great start to the school year. We are still working through K5 material. Her teacher thinks it will take until October or November before getting to the 1st grade material. Though that does not make me happy, I know she is in great hands with a leader encouraging her on her way. Miss 6 learned more in 1.5 weeks of 1st grade than she did all last year. Staying focused on the path ahead rather than looking back. Have a great school year, Jen!

Tracy – that makes me very happy to hear that things are going well so far. I know that you had a difficult year (that’s an understatement) last year and it’s fantastic that this year she will have a supportive teacher… with that and you and Paul’s support everything will be fine! You are such great parents and so involved with your kids… a true blessing! I know we will chat more again about school but wish you an amazing year for everyone! You deserve it after last! Thanks Tracy
